24 Hours of Sound

This Friday marks the start of Riverwest’s twenty-four hours of biking, biking and more biking. In one of the most fun efforts to build community strength, the Riverwest 24 will see bikers zipping through the streets, building awareness of not only neighborhood, but of bikers in an urban environment.

To add to the festivities, the RW24 crew has planned a slew of musical sound-boosters to keep both bikers and onlookers pumped and in high spirits. Both DJs and bands such as Figureheads, Hearts of Stone and Uncle Larry will be at block parties/checkpoints on Pierce Street and the Marsupial Bridge. Portland’s Why I Must Be Careful will be moving around various checkpoints throughout the twenty-four hours on their moving bike stage. This weekend, stamina’s the name of the game.
