To all those who like burying their eardrums in a swirl of disaffected noise, but still need a bit of sweetness to melt away the rough edges,  ‘shoegazer’ is your ticket. Scoop yours up by hitting the Cactus Club (2496 S. Wentworth) this Saturday at 10 p.m. as The Brief Candles (Milwaukee) take the stage with Glowfriends (Kalamazoo) and Fahri (Milwaukee).

Brief Candles have a new album in the works, and this Saturday’s show should provide fans with plenty of glimpses of the material of a band that has bowed to the shrine of Kevin Shields on more than one occasion. Glowfriends and Fahri’s guitar-driven, female-fronted pop-rock borrows from 90’s indie influences, but keeps it current. Check out “Charades” from Glowfriends, below…

  1. Peter J Woods Says:

Possibly the best title for an article I have seen on fan-belt. Laughed out loud in public and felt like a butthole because of it.
