St. Patty’s anti-party: Demix + ifIHadaHifi @ Borg Ward

St. Patty’s Day. Woo-freakin’-hoo. I have nothing against Irish folks and I like Catholic feast days — there’s just something about St. Pat’s I can’t get into. I will concede that going to the Harp & Shamrock happy hour is pretty fun … but that’s it.

Enough Bah-Humbug. This year is different, thanks to the The Demix + ifIHadaHifi show at Borg Ward tonight. No jigs, no green beer, no Water St. fratty-ness. It still might get a little loud and abrasive — in a good way — with HiFi’s noisy brand of barroom punk and The Demix’s dark-like-Doomsday electro set. They will be joined by the Bloomington, Ind. noise rock foursome the Sump Pumps, who are out on their final tour.

The party starts at 6:30 p.m. at the Borg Ward, 823 W. National Ave. See ya there.
